Yes! This really resonated with me. I've been out of the workforce longer than I was in it, first because of disability and then childrearing. Sometimes I get really caught off guard when I'm talking to new people, attempting to give some context for who I am.

I definitely relate to this. I don't have many opportunities to share what I do, but when it happens I usually downplay or deflect because it is hard to describe why it is meaningful.
